Blaine, a graduate of UNC-G with a BS in Elementary Education and an MSA in School Administration from NC State, boasts a comprehensive 30-year career in education. While most of his experience lies in teaching 3rd grade for nine years, he’s also worked with students ranging from kindergarten to 6th grade, including AIG, 4th grade, and 6th grade. Transitioning into leadership roles, Blaine served as an assistant principal for over six years before assuming the principalship at Root Elementary for the past 12 years. With a background primarily in high need schools, he has successfully collaborated with diverse groups to foster supportive and nurturing learning environments. Blaine’s educational philosophy centers on ensuring every student experiences at least a year’s worth of growth annually, recognizing education as a pathway to breaking the cycle of poverty. His school motto, #WorkHardBeKind, embodies his belief that diligent effort and kindness are foundational for both individual growth and creating safe, inclusive learning spaces where all students and staff feel valued. Blaine is currently accepting clients that are seeking education consultation in either an individual educator context or a school group context.
